The Board of Education of Wynford Local Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Steve Mohr as superintendent. Mohr is coming out of retirement to lead Wynford for a second round as superintendent at a time when the district is facing difficult finances and significant changes in other administrative positions within the district.![]()

Mohr served as Wynford superintendent from 2006 to 2015. His educational career spans 37+ years. Prior to coming to Wynford, he taught social studies at Colonel Crawford, served as athletic director and assistant principal at Colonel Crawford High School, and also served as junior high principal. He also taught social studies and served as athletic director at Buckeye Central High and held teaching and head basketball coaching positions at Shelby, Elyria West, and Marion Harding. He had a highly successful career as a head basketball coach that spanned 27 years. Since retiring in 2005, Mohr has kept busy as a certified motivational speaker and leadership trainer, making hundreds of presentations to schools, businesses, churches, and government entities.![]()

Mohr commented on returning to Wynford again: “I am humbled and appreciate the opportunity the Board of Education has given me to serve Wynford again. Wynford is a special place for my family. My wife is a Wynford graduate, both of my children graduated from Wynford, and I spent a quarter of my educational career here. My promise to the residents of Wynford is that we will be transparent in conducting our business, be accountable, communicate regularly with all stakeholders, and be good stewards of the district’s resources. Since being selected for this position, I have spent a great deal of time familiarizing myself with the state of the district. There is no question that these are challenging times for the district, but Wynford, like all districts, has faced adversity in the past, and in each instance, Wynford responded positively and moved on to success. I have no doubt that we will do so again.”

When he was 21, his mother passed away from cancer; just 15 months later, his father passed away as well. Suddenly orphaned, Graham legally adopted his 13-year-old sister, Darline, to ensure she was provided for, navigating his law degree while stepping up as her guardian.![]()

🔴 The Air Force JAG Deal: Because he was raising his young sister, Graham needed to stay close to home.
